Dear friends:
I know, I know: it has been a long time, too long, almost 6 months to be exact! What happened was that I struggled with injuries for several months and therefore couldn’t even think of competing. I did stay in shape and did some photo shootings, though. Other than that, I focused on my Personal Training clients and on providing them with the best possible service.
But now I have some information that is newsletter-worthy and I hope that you’ll find the long wait worthwhile, as well.
1. Business and pleasure in the USA
We went to the USA end of September since I had a photo shoot for the women’s fitness magazine Oxygen (http://www.oxygenmag.com) lined up in Los Angeles and I really wanted to visit the pinnacle of fitness and bodybuilding, the Mr. Olympia event in Las Vegas.
Two days after arriving in LA we had scheduled the photo shooting. It’s not easy traveling and being on diet at the same time! But I managed to stay in shape and the session went smoothly. What a great experience working with Alex Ardenti (http://www.alexardenti.com), one of the top photographers in this field! We went to a gym in San Fernando valley and shot a series of exercises for a 2008 issue of Oxygen. It was exhausting but fun!

2. Great pix on the beach and in the desert
While sightseeing around LA, we ended up at Malibu beach right before sunset. Since the light was great, we took some photos with our tiny little digital camera and they turned out beautifully!
A few days later it was time to move on to Las Vegas and we found ourselves in the late afternoon in the middle of the Mojave desert. Again, we whipped out the camera and organized an impromptu photo shoot. I just love how these pictures turned out!

3. Mr. Olympia 2007 and my participation in the "Flex Magazine Bikini Model Search"
Finally we arrived in Las Vegas and at the Mr. Olympia venue. It was a great experience and a great way to meet some old friends again and also to get to know many new people in the industry. My sponsors from Bodies in Germany (http://www.bodies-shop.de) were there, as well.
In a spur of the moment decision, I participated in the "Flex Magazine Bikini Model Search" that took place at the Las Vegas Expo Center and almost didn’t make it in as I literally arrived 5 minutes past the deadline (not changed yet and without make-up), when all the other girls were already lined up behind the stage, ready to go! The girls all looked great and I didn’t believe I would stand a chance! But it was worth it as I ended up in third place out of all 74 contestants.
There was not only a cash prize but also the honor of being a presenter at the Mr. Olympia finals that very evening. So I got to be on the Mr. O stage on my very first visit and gave the trophy to the best German participant, the awesome Dennis Wolf, and a few others.
Afterwards we went partying in the amazing Las Vegas clubs with a group of people including my friend Dorian Yates.

4. My participation in fall competitions
I have an announcement to make: this fall I will be competing again in the German championships and at the Miss Universe competitions for the NAC (http://www.nac-germany.de) in the Shape category. And I plan to retake the Miss Universe title! I am preparing a completely new choreography with some new gymnastic and strength elements and a little different style.
So, wish me luck and freedom from injury and, if you can, come and see me in Hamburg on Dec. 1st.
