Hi all,
I wish you a happy new year and and a very successful 2006! On this Sunday evening I'm finding the time to write the third issue of my newsletter...
1. N.A.B.B.A. Intl. Inc. Miss Universe
I'd announced it in the last newsletter: the Miss Universe contest was around the corner. Well, the day came along and it was a great event. Participants from 19 countries and more than 1000 spectators filled the congress centre in Aachen/Germany. The atmosphere was fantasic and the competition in the Shape (fitness) category was tough. Especially the competitors from eastern Europe and Russia were excellent, as usual. My choreography worked out well except for some small details and the posing was also fine even though I could improve the back pose somewhat. The new outfit for the evening gown round, a chinese style long dress in light blue, was well received.
Still, the result was very much unexpected. At the end, there were just 6 finalists on stage. 5 ,4 ,3 ,2 ... and then it happened: Miss Universe Shape 2005 is Lyen Wong! Incredible! I could not believe it! Bodybuilding legend Dorian Yates handed me the trophy and then it was posing for photos, shaking hands, hugging, more photos... is was a great experience!
I'd like to express my heartfelt thanks to my husband, to my choreographer Silvia Unger and to my posing and nutrition consultant Inge Babel. It would have never made it without your help!
The very next day we were on our way to Bangkok and Brunei. We stayed in the Thai capital for 11 days and got to know the place beyond the usual tourist destinations. The place and the weather are just great in December. Succulent Thai food on every street corner, especially sweet rice with coconut milk and fresh mango! Brunei was a very different place where we just kicked back and relaxed at the excellent hotel and moved as little as possible.
2. Sponsoring Dorian-Yates-Approved PRO-Ms
At the beginning of December I signed my first sponsoring contract for nutrition products. For one year I will be promoting the PRO-Ms line of Dorian-Yates-Approved and will also represent that company on the FIBO 2006 show (http://www.fitnesshalle.de/). So, people, go and buy the stuff!
3. English version of www.lyenwong.de online
It took a while, but most of my website is now available in English. Just click on the little flag on the upper left corner - go and check it out!
4. New images online
